I finally sent my proposal to the NWFWMD. Steve Brown responded the next day with a very nice email. He was impressed with the proposal but he had several concerns. Mostly they were about building in an area that’s about to be logged. About 90% of the area is to be logged around 2010. Since it would probably take 2 years to build the trail, it’s not worth doing, in my opinion. It’s interesting that they would recommend this parcel and then be concerned about logging. Why not recommend a parcel that won’t or has already been cleared? His other concerns were the large gullies close to the river’s edge and he also wanted to know what we would require as far as parking. He was curious about how much the trail would be ridden and if it would be a cruising trail or a workout trail. I responded to his email on Thursday. I told him that the trail would be very ridable for anyone but would definitely be strenuous. I also agreed about building in an area that will be mowed down in a few years and I was open to any suggestions he had. I also proposed using other property they own to trails. They own or manage a huge amount of land along the Escambia River. Most of it is swampy but I would think there is some upland around.

As far as Blackwater, they are still surveying the area. Could this process be any slower? Government sucks. I think anarchy is the way to go.

Also, save internet radio.
